Andreas Mikellis

Andreas is the Design Director for Gubb & Mackie and was born in London.

"My design aesthetic is based on traditional Artisan values found in bespoke tailoring and the simple perfection of utilitarian clothing.

Recognised internationally in the 1980’s for my cult label Angel UK which I started with my partner Textile Designer, Sharon Evans-Mikellis. I later teamed up with John Rowley Jr to establish the menswear brand AJ Black, described by Arena Homme Plus as “coolly modern”.

I moved to New Zealand 10 years ago and was asked by renowned Australasian Tailors, Cambridge Clothing to design a fresh concept label to add to their stable of brands. The resulting label, © People, enjoyed success in New Zealand, Australia, USA & Asia. I am currently also a Senior Lecturer in Design at AUT University."
